Milfoil Mat

Eurasian watermilfoil is one of the most common aquatic invasive plants in New York and among the most often encountered by boat launch stewards working to safeguard Adirondack waterways as part of our Stewardship Program. This piece is a representation of the threat of milfoil to Adirondack waters and is an interactive piece with birchbark boats and “milfoil” in some but not all of the pockets, representing the proportion of surveyed lakes in the park in which this invasive plant has been documented.
