Greta

Greta (named for Greta Thunberg) is a Tunisian crochet dress that depicts global temperature anomalies, or departures from long-term average conditions.  This record begins in 1880 and colors are arrayed on a gradient from whites/greys through blues/greens to oranges/reds and aligned with the dataset to depict departures from baseline temperatures.  Recent years are at the bottom of the dress and illustrate the continuing long-term warming trend.  Climate change is among the most important threats to our waterways and this dress was created during Greta’s transatlantic voyage to attend climate meetings in New York.
