Mirror Lake Ice Sweater

Lake ice is changing, with implications for lakes in the Adirondacks and across the globe. Among the lakes that have seen decreased duration of ice cover as a result of warming winter temperatures is Mirror Lake in Lake Placid, NY. This traditional Icelandic lopapeysa sweater has the ice cover data from Mirror Lake depicted in a band across the bottom edge. Data are from the Ausable River Association.
