Mirror Lake Celebration

  • Innovation Hub at Northwood School 2495 Main Street Lake Placid, NY, 12946 United States (map)

Hosted by Mirror Lake Watershed Association

The Mirror Lake Watershed Association is hosting an Open House on Tuesday, June 21 from 5-7 P.M. Anyone curious about what we are devoting our time and efforts to should join us at Northwood School’s Innovation Hub on Main Street, next door to the Bookstore Plus.

There will be a few speakers sharing information about the health and importance of Mirror Lake to our town. Brendan Wiltse, Senior Research Scientist at the Adirondack Watershed Institute and Paul Smith’s faculty member, will be our featured speaker.

Last summer’s lake steward, Sophie Morelli, now director of the LPNE Historical Society, will talk about her experience educating boaters about aquatic invasive species, and college student Amelia Brady will talk about what it was like growing-up under the influence of Mirror Lake.

We will be providing refreshments generously donated by Lake Placid Pub & Brewery and The Wine & Spirit Shoppe. Generations Restaurant has graciously offered to provide finger foods. A special shout-out goes to Northwood School for allowing us use of their beautiful facility.

The vibe will be casual. Please stop in for whatever amount of time you have. Our board members are eager to meet you and share our passion for Mirror Lake.
