Alec Cimini joined the AWI team in 2025 as a Graduate Research Fellow under Michale Glennon. He is working on a project funded by Lake Champlain Sea Grant to investigate shoreline biodiversity on Upper Saranac Lake.
Alec’s most recent position was at U.S. Geological Survey in Oswego, New York as one of their Student Services Contractors, where he worked on Coregonine and Lake Trout projects related to spawning success across Lake Ontario. In his free time, he enjoys going kayaking, fishing, downhill skiing, and going on walks.
Alec graduated from Clarkson University in May 2023 with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy and minors in Biology and Political Science. During undergrad, he experienced Clarkson’s Adirondack Semester which was at Paul Smith’s College. He is currently pursuing his M.S. in Natural Resource Conservation at Paul Smith’s College, with a concentration in Aquatic Resource Management.
