Upper Saranac Watershed Management Plan

Seeking public input on Upper Saranac watershed management plan's final recommendations

The proposed management recommendations for the Upper Saranac watershed are now available and the Upper Saranac Foundation is seeking the public's feedback. All members of the community who are interested in contributing input are encouraged to review the draft recommendations (click here to open) and participate in the online feedback survey (click here to complete).

The deadline to provide public comment is December 22, 2021.

This effort is part of a watershed management plan coordinated by the Upper Saranac Foundation in partnership with the Paul Smith's College Adirondack Watershed Institute. The resulting document will define community priorities related to watershed resources and establish the framework for future state funding grant proposals.

The plan builds on a 1998 Upper Saranac management plan that was developed with input from stakeholders and the public. It also builds on decades of monitoring and management activities in the watershed.

Over the past 18 months, USF and AWI has been collecting public input for the management plan via a public survey, email, and two public meetings. This feedback is reflected in the draft management recommendations.

Thank you for your interest in this plan. If you have any questions or comments about the planning effort please email Guy Middleton at lakemanager@usfoundation.net or Zoë Smith at zsmith1@paulsmiths.edu
